Suhail Al Mazrouei opens PAR 2022 in Abu Dhabi

The 7th Edition of Port Authorities Roundtable (PAR 2022) in Abu Dhabi was opened today by Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure. AD Ports Group is hosting the event under the theme Reimagining a New Era of Trade Together. Port authorities from 13 countries met for the first time in the Middle East to exchange best practices, discuss issues of common interest and forge a mutually beneficial partnership in today’s maritime environment.

Suhail Al Mazrouei opens PAR 2022 in Abu DhabiAt a time of growing concerns over cargo backlogs in Asia, the event comes at a crucial time for the ports and shipping sectors. Among the countries represented at the event were Antwerp, Barcelona, Busan, Guangzhou, Iraq, Kobe, Oman, Rotterdam, Saudi Arabia, Seattle, Singapore, and Shanghai.

The closed-door event examined ports’ efforts to build robust infrastructure that mitigates climate change and sea level rise, as well as new initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact. The opening speeches were from Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure; Quah Ley Hoon, CEO, Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore; Omar Talal Hariri, President, Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI); and Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO, AD Ports Group.
